Assam Don Bosco University

The Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), founded by the Don Bosco Society on March 9, 2008, was recognized as the first state university in Assam to operate in the private sector by the State Private Universities Act of 2007 of the Government of Assam. The University is accredited with “A” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with a 2f and 12B status. The University is located at Tapesia Tea Gardens at Kamarkuchi, Sonapur, Assam.

Physics Academy of North-East (PANE)

The Physics Academy of North East (PANE) was inaugurated by the well known educationist and physicist, late Prof G. C. Deka at the Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati on 6th April, 1998 in a function with the chairmanship of Dr. D.N. Boragohain, the then Director of the institute. The Academy was the brainchild of a gathering of eminent physicists of North East India, on November 11, 1997, at IIT Guwahati, celebrating hundred years of discovery of electron. The genesis of the program led by Prof. K. M. Pathak, the former Vice-chancellor of Tezpur University, gave a wakeup call of establishing such an academy with the aim of promoting physics research and education, wide dissemination of physics information, physics thoughts and culture, placement of physics graduates of North East region.
