Assam Don Bosco University

Don Bosco University is a project of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) executed by Don Bosco Society, Azara, Guwahati. Presently, Salesians are working in 132 countries catering to over nine million young people worldwide; Salesians have been recognized by Government of India as the single largest provider of technical education in India, second only to the Government. More than 100 Salesian technical schools and 25 colleges have been established in India. Scores of non-formal training centers, agricultural training centers, relief and rehabilitation centers, literacy centers and shelters for street children in India are managed by the salesians of Don Bosco.

The Assam Don Bosco University has been set up in the year 2008 in Guwahati, Assam, as a response to the felt educational needs of the people of North-East India and its modus operandi is characterized by the distinctive educational philosophy and method of Don Bosco institutions worldwide.

The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and under 12 B status of UGC and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The University has been accredited ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), India. The University is a recognized member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), India, Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), United Kingdom and the International Association of Universities (IAU), France.
